Sun Conure named Kiwi
I did a forum search and couldn't find anything on this specifically, so if anyone knows of a helpful thread, please post the link! Otherwise, here's my dilemma.

I've already introduced my new sun conure and asked about whether his cage would be safe around our dogs or not. Thanks for the replies on that, by the way! I now have another question. When we first got Kiwi a week ago he was so cage aggressive that we had to pull him out with gloves on in order to handle him. Once he was out he was "fine" and let us practice tricks with him, but he would frequently nip our gloved fingers. After a couple of times doing this, I did more research and learned that this is not the best way to inspire trust! I had also been doing a terrible job of reading his body language. Oops, my bad. We have now been leaving him in the cage with the door open, luring him to the front with treats, and just hoping he'll come out on his own someday. We have his play gym set up and ready for him:)

He climbs all over the cage, takes treats from us, plays with his toys- but what I haven't seen him do is bathe. His water dish is always still crystal clear every time I take it out to refill it. Should we get a different dish to attach in his cage for his baths? Should we try spritzing him? I would love to take him into the shower, but he has to come out of his cage first! He's not going to die if he goes a week or two without bathing, is he?

No he won't die from not bathing. My amazon never bathes himself, but my conure's definitely gotten the idea that water = fun. Anytime I put fresh water in her cage she takes a bath. Try putting some we lettuce leaves in a dish in the bottom of the cage, but misting is fine, but even so, it's not entirely necessary.
