5 month old Sun Conure molting

I just purchased Buddie yesterday. He is molting. Is there anything special I need to do or feed him?
I read they like water,so I ran some lukewarm water over a towel in the sink just deep enought to cover his feet. Buddie had a screaching fit.

Bathing is important and there are a number of ways you can do it. You can try a warm and gentle mist (dont spray the bird directly), you can offer a dish of warm water and see if he will bath himself, and you can also bring him into the shower with you. Shower perches can be bought at most pet stores that cater to birds. My bird prefers the shower and hates be sprayed but they are all different. Its pretty young to be molting, he is going to need lots of protein and calcium to make new strong feathers. A good pelleted diet is recommended with lots of nutritious fruit and vegetable options. You can also make up a mash of bird-safe grains, beans and legumes. A few people have posted some great recipes here.
