Momo the jenday
Hey guys.I have an 18 month old jenday (I know ,I asked about sunnies at first but went to see the babies, saw 15 month Jenday, fell in love, parrot let me pet him without biting, which, according to the lady was amazing=Jenday .)His previous owners had left him there for boarding and then had sent the woman a text saying that they didn't want him anymore. His original name was Zack but he got terrified whenever i said "Zack" so ,because of his swet personality i named him Momo, japanese for peach.Anyway, out the cage= sweet like a peach. In=mini demon+shark got rabies and turned into Momo.I WILL NOT give him up like his previous owners. Can anyone help me please?I don't want anymore bites:(

You should probably start with target training. Teach Momo (makes me think of Avatar anime!) to move about his cage to touch an object and be rewarded for it. Once he's able to target reliable around his cage, you can then work on targeting him to step up from his cage.

You need to learn Momo's body language, then try to avoid getting bitten by not putting Momo in a situation that will result in a bite. It will take work, though.

I'd say there's some of Momo's past that you were not apprised of.....fear of his name is probably indicative of him having been yelled at and the cage aggression is where he probably feels safe. If his cage is one that came with him, you may have some cage attitude adjustment to work on, or, you might consider a different cage.....

If you do get a new cage, let it set near his current one, door open, with food & water in it and maybe one or two toys...not a bunch.....let him be the one to choose the new cage, even if it's only for short visits at first.....if everything goes well, Momo should start spending more time in the new cage & when he does, you can start leaving less food & water in the old cage, so that at some point you should be able to remove the old cage all together.....might turn out to be several weeks or it could be a few days.....
