My conure is about a year old... He might have gotten in between the door for like 5 seconds and he has been behaving oddly since then. When he flies, he's not swift but seems like he's heavy/struggling... He slept a lot
More than usual today... He's eating normally though but he's pretty in depending and does what he wants because he flies everywhere in the house, and if anyone leaves the room he's super fast to go
After them...
None of that today.

What could be wrong? We had a vet appointment today but he briefly
Started to act normal so we cancelled it and rescheduled
For next week...but now I'm worried
About delaying it
:(

Please help

Contact the vet and ask them what to do.

It may help to get some electrolytes into him, keep him warm, and keep an eye on him until he can be seen. Maybe the vet could squeeze him in sooner?

Sun Conure named Boomer!
I'm so sorry to hear that :( I'd definitely be stressed if that was happening with Boomer. You did say he seems to be acting normal now though; let's hope that sticks! Let us know how things go with the vet; good luck!

Definitely get him into the vet asap. Conures hide sickness/injury very well so if he's showing any signs at all you should bring him immediately.

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your replies and concerns. I'm eating breakfast with him right now and he seems to be his normal little self, exploring everything... He was hungry and ate his food happily with a treat as well. I'm going to call and find an appointment for him soon before I go to class.. I skipped class because there was no way I could focus worrying about him lol. He seems to be his normal lively self like I said... But something's just odd a out his flying. My dad checked his wings and little legs and they seemed ok... But yeah I've also read hat they hide their injury well so I definitely want to know and I hope it isn't too serious. Sorry for the weird typing, it's hard to do it on the phone lol.

Oh I was going to take him to an emergency vet hospital if I didn't get an appointment...
Would that be ok?

Crimson bellied conure.
Yes if you can get him into a emergency vet ASAP that would be great. Keep him warm with a heating pad outside his cage and keep the cage covered on 3 sides with a blanket to keep the warmth inside the cage. Make sure he is eating and drinking lots of water and maybe ask the vet if it is ok to give him some enriched electrolyte water. Maybe limit his activity for awhile until he is seen by the vet to miminize any injuries he might have. Good luck and keep us posted.
