Fruit for BCC

What kinds of fruits do you feed your Blue Crown Conures? So far he has eaten grapes and apples.

Re: Fruit for BCC

Pretty much anything you see a larger bird can eat a blue crowned can to it just has to be chopped smaller. My blue crowned loves what you stated, oranges, bananas, green beans, broccoli, other greens and veggies, etc.... So try everything that is safe just chop it smaller

Re: Fruit for BCC

No raisins, what about grapes?
Which beans were ok to cook and feed?
Everyone keeps saying any greens and veggies, but not raisins and avocados. Is there anything else to avoid in the fresh food section?? I've heard there might be other things not to feed, but I was so paranoid today at the store! I think that list would help a bit more.
I couldn't tell if hot peppers were ok, or what beans are ok or which leafy greens. I know iceberg for most animals has far too much water content to make it worth anything other than for hydration. So that's three things to avoid.
It's going along with the thread topic, so I shouldn't be high-jacking it. =D

Re: Fruit for BCC

all beans except Fava beans as long as cooked are ok to feed them. Iceberg is so very bad for animals it will actually kill them! so NO ICEBERG! all other greens are ok though of course organic non GMO and pesticide free are always best! I will look for a more thorough list online secuono

Re: Fruit for BCC

It's ok, I'll keep searching and maybe be able to compile a big ol' fancy-pants list some day soon.

Re: Fruit for BCC

Why not raisins? Crud....I read somewhere to give birds the little sunmaid boxes of raisins so it was like foraging.
I also read no onions or mushrooms.

Re: Fruit for BCC

right no mushrooms or onions and raisins are bad for all animals something about being dried makes them toxic to animals an occasional treat wont kill them but I never give them to them cause they can kill them if they eat them often.
