Sprite the cinnamon green cheek conure.
Sprite is going to be 2 on April 11! WOW! Time flies hehe :p
Anyway, I got him when he was 5 months and I've never been through a molt with him. Just now he was sitting on my knee and when he moved there was lots of down feathers (he was preening, but this has never happened) Could this be a sign of a molt?

Yep, he's molting & since it's his first, it could go on a couple of months...or more.....

When the pin feathers (he'll look like a pin cushion) start coming in, he will probably start getting irritable & cranky as molts are uncomfortable for birds.....more baths if he wants them....

Cody-Blu, female Blue-Crowned Conure, Hatched - (approx) June 1, 2014, in a South Florida tree.

Pritti (Cherry-Head Conure) -- Fly in Peace my beautiful boy. Forever I'll love you.
Also, he'll probably love to have something to scratch on, namely you (your finger), or he'll find something in his habitat area. Pritti could live with his spikey head attached to my thumb nail during molting, lol. But he'll often be seen using a corner of a box, stainless curved mirror cornr, end of a wood perch, piece of wood toy -- anything he can find to rub his itchy little head on.

AND... he will likely need your help to open some of the pin feathers he can't reach when they are mature enough. If you don't know how, find out first so you don't work on one too early.
