Hi there,

My conure is now about 3/4 months old. I mentioned before that she was being quite nippy.

Her bites are getting very hard now. I am just a bit confused. She gets so excited and wants attention yet when I give it to her she keeps biting me, esp when it comes to putting her in her cage.

Her wings are clipped, she gets plenty of out and in time, plenty of attention but she gets very scatty and nippy. The lady who reared her said she was very cuddly and sweet natured so I kind of expected her to have settled down a bit.

Any advice? Must add when she bites I push her off gently or blow on her face as suggested but she still goes for me. She had her wings out and feathers puffed up earlier even though she was dying for some attention.

I know this because she is pratically hanging off her cage trying to get to me and gets all excited like a little puppy

I have had success playing with them at their cage. Practice putting her in then take her right back out. Make it fun for her to go back to the cage. Give favorite treats when back in cage. I go at this like harness training. They have to get use to the cage when you get near it with them. Do reps of in and out of cage for like 10 min. Have it so she does not know if your playing or putting them in the cage for good. If she is nippy out while playing she may just be getting overly excited. Just set her down until she calms down.

So I just put her on her playtop and popped out the room. Came back and she was bopping her head up and down looking all excited. Tried to play with her on her playtop and she just lunged and tried to bite me. She is in one bad mood today!
