Looks like Pritti found himself a real treat! Kiwi is a big banana fan too. Sometimes when I have one about to be "too ripe", I'll hang the whole thing (peel and all) in his cage and let him go crazy on it. It makes a huge mess, but is so worth it to watch :)

yeah, i knew about the peels, but i don't buy organic bananas so i don't let him have them. The thick skin does a good job of protecting the fruit inside. If you are using conventional banana peels, you might want to take a look:

http://www.whatsonmyfood.org/food.jsp?food=BN

Plantations in Central America apply more than ten times the average for intensive agriculture in industrialized countries.
Fungicides: up to 40 times per year. Some, like mancozebare, are suspected carcinogens.
Nematicides: two - four times a year to kill parasitic nematode worms, they are extremely dangerous.
Insecticides: chlorpyrifos impregnated into plastic bags and tags
Herbicides: sprayed between 8 and 12 times a year. Glysophate is a suspected carcinogen.
Fertilizer: regularly
Washed with tisabendazol and aluminium sulphate.

We've gone pretty much 100% organic. It's scary what's happening with "conventional" foods, and I wouldn't personally want to feed it to my family or bird. Good thing your being safe with the bananas. I can only imagine the terrible things those caustic chemicals could do to a little birdie :-(

As per Bicom Resonance Therapy, my cherry headed conure had a lot of bad chemicals in him, including DT... I had had it done only once, because it was free... to get it done regularly, it was over $200 per treatment, something I could not afford. :(

That's a cute photo of Pritti destroying his banana!!!!

Lol that banana dwarfs Pritti. Glad he's enjoying it.

Boomer also loves the banana peel but I don't give him any because I'm worried of the chemicals on it.

Lol that banana dwarfs Pritti.

I always break off a piece for him, or hold the whole banana while he is eating it on my shoulder -- but I peeled that one to make myself a smoothie, and he was on the counter and ran over to me with that "wanting" look. So.... well, you know...
