1 sun conure (ZAZU)
zazu is starting to bite a bit when she never used 2. but not badly it is not painful more of a nibble but a angry nibble she also hissed at me when I'm trying to take him out his cage but when he is on me and cuddling he only nibbles and doesn't hiss. is this a stage or am I not spending enough time with Him?

Sounds like Zazu is starting to test her limits.....companion parrots don't realize how much pressure they are exerting with their beak, so they need a bit of training

The hissing is part of her cage protection.....a bird's cage is its safe place.....its castle.....

You might try a little reverse psychology with her…..back off your attempts to get her out of her cage…..talk to her, but leave her in her cage, with the door open. She'll eventually come out & either hang out on the door, climb to the top of her cage, fly to you.....

Conures are big flock animals, wanting to be where the action is & if you back away some, she’ll most likely come looking for more attention, which gives you the opportunity to work with setting limits with her. Giving her a stern NO when she starts to nip or a stern NO BITE & either walk away or put her back in her cage…..none of my birds like to be ignored & if I tell them NO & they try to do what they want anyway, they’re ignored for 15-30 minutes…they have their little tantrum, quite down & let me know they’re ready to come out again...they all know both phrases & they pick up on the disapproving body language sometimes more than they do the terms.....

Whenever she does something you ask of her, praise her & make a big deal of it.....

Good luck.....
