Hi all.
We have had Wyatt at home for only a couple of days, he is adjusting well, and wants to be with me all the time, yesterday afternoon, i easily laid him on his back in the palm of my hand, rubbed his belly and he fell asleep. i never thought in my wildest dreams you could do this to a bird. Later on in the evening, he wanted to sit with me in my chair, with my right arm againts my side, he was aggresively trying to burrow his way between my arm and my side, and I mean he was really going for it, puzzled I said "NO" and put him in my lap, he kept doing it , and because I didn't want to loose him in the chair, i would't let him do it, The little bugger bit me hard on my side, so I just brought him up to my face and said "NO BITING" and put him in his cage, he was quiet there, and went to sleep ...... don't know what to think of that behaviour..... any ideas?:rainbow1:

My 8 mo old GCC loves to burrow into our clothes, under blankets, on the back of my neck behind my hair...you name it! I am constantly on alert to make sure he doesnt get into a bad situation. He'll also bite if you try to move him when he doesn't want to be moved.

Wyatt sounds adorably normal to me!

both my mini macaws were quite serious smugglers and liked to cuddle on my chest under a blanket. If I reached in there to move or try to pull out I get a little nip or a crabby macaw sound. When they were babies this was cute and accepted but when they reached sexual maturity the under covers cuddling had to stop.

I think the secure comfort of "burrowing" with you for cuddles helps the baby parrot feel more secure. I cuddle with my large RFM in this manner as well he will lay on his side or back snuggled between my body and arm while he takes his talon and pets himself. Valentino feel safe and content enough with me to be this relaxed. He seems to be confident I would never drop him.

My Blue Crown loves to snuggle under my chin--he always wants to be under my chin. I find this a little worrisome because sometimes he gets scared by the dogs/kids and I worry about getting bit. I am in the process of training him to have a few minutes of "under chin snuggle" and then move back down my chest or arm. This is getting more successful and now he snuggles a bit and then says "step up up" and moves down. You will just have to teach him what is ok and what isn't.
