help with yellow cap

Hi all, Im hoping to get some advice. My mum has a female yellow cap conure named Sasha, who Ive always referred to as "little chicken"
Anywho, long story short, the bird is about 7 yrs old now, and for some reason, she adores me most out of everyone. I think shes cute, but never really thought about her then the way I do now. She had gotten outside and flew off when she was a few years old. I took it upon myself to do everything in my power to find her. My mum couldnt as she takes care of my little brother who is autistic. Later that evening, the neighbor came to let us know that she flew back and was on the roof of the house two houses down. I immediately dropped what I was doing and ran out to grab the ladder, went over, climbed the roof and scooped up this little, scared, drenched parrot. Ever since, when I visit, she wants nothing to do with anyone else and literally drops down to flap, make begging sounds and cry out until I take her out of her cage. Im pretty fond of her begging as she will shake like a baby one begging for food, or will just stand there with one foot up yelling "up up"
Im sure she remembers I brought her home, but my problem is that she used to be so social and now will bite EVERYONE. I dont even live there and cant get there all the time. She has gotten to the point, that she no longer wants anything to do with my mum....her primary. She will bite the blood out if anyone tries to take her from me....I know it breaks my mums heart, but she had finally broke down and asked if I would take her. I love the bird, dont have any myself. Shes amazing and will only talk to me...she will not work with anyone else no matter how you try to bribe her...its like she shuts down when I leave. Im very sorry this is so long as I wanted to provide you with some details, but my question is....should I bring her home? Would it be in her best interest? Im fully capable, both time wise and financially. However, I dont want to make her life worse. Any thoughts? Anyone?

Thanks very much. I wanted to be certain it wouldnt make it worse...she really is amazing and I have never had that kind of bond with a parrot before....my mums got a few, so I thank you for your help. I only want whats best for her, bc she is family! =)

LOL, they are demanding, but so worth it. Take her home if you want a little birdie. A true bond like this is amazing. If not let her go and don't visit for a whiley

I don't understand people who talk of bird being "addicting" and wanting more - I've never faced that. I love Auggie, why would I get a different bird then?

It's a bit like saying to someone at their wedding: oh marrage is great, just watch out, pretty soon you'll want a second spouse, I have 6 myself.

IMO a bird is not like a spouse. My reasons for having multiples vary, including providing same species companionship for them, giving a home to a needy bird, enjoying watching them interact with each other. Just my opinion of course.
