Jacob a sun conure who found me!
So, after having him for 5 or 6 weeks now, no owner in sight, I guess he's mine.. New landlord wasn't keen on him living here, so I said I was gonna put him up for adoption.. His grand daughter now wanted him cause he was so social. I said lets do a trial, if you like him and keep him you can adopt him. She said yes, grand pa gave in as well. One day I came home and she have had his wings clipped, it wrenched my heart, he seemed sad and a bit frustrated.. And then he adapted, kept on being the same goofy clown as always, but now the girl was complaining that he started pooping in her bed. And I told her well you don't give him any poop place alternative. You have to create a little pooping spot, he is very house broken, he only poops in one place in his cage too.. Very clean birdy..

Either way, she gave up and said she didn't want to adopt him anymore, I noticed he sat more and more in his cage, she didn't clean it etc, so I knew it was coming.

So now he's back in my room, on the good end, I don't think landlord will say very much if I don't find an adopter and now keep him instead.. (working on that though). He is with me a lot now when he's clipped, he goes with me on my dog walks, local deli, I had him with me when I was training classes the other day, after 4 hours outside with me, he's pooped, then he sleeps the rest of the day.. I have no problems with his poops, I will give him plenty of opportunity to poop in areas where its easy to clean up.. Im gonna have to invest ina small vacuum cleaner cause he leaves a lot of crums and dust behind.. But overall he's a very good bird, not half as loud as he was before...

He will walk around the floor and sqwuak like a penguin..
Also he will rub his head all over my chin like a cat headbutting me, is that some sort of ritual that I should avoid?

Here's a couple of pictures of him :)

Glad you saved him from that girl, urgh.

I would suggest you harness train him while its still early, so that by the time his wings grow out, you can take him outdoors with no worries. Still even with clipped wings, be careful. They can still fly away.

I was working with him with a harness, and he did great, but then he got tangled once and he panicked.. Now when he sees it he goes crazy and not ina good way :( I had to cut it off of him the last time.. I am trying to get him readjusted to it by just letting it lay around... and she liked him, she was just a bit too young.. it really is like having a 2 year old lol
