Kiwi Stardust - a green cheek conure
Hello everyone!

Kiwi loves to wrestle with my hands/fingers. She'll put her foot on my finger then roll on her back and start chewing all over the place. Sometimes she'll pinch pretty hard, most of the time it's pressure bites.

Will this lead to actually training/encouraging her to bite?

It seems almost a natural thing for her to do as she's playing and having fun, so I don't really want to discourage it.

What do you guys think?

I play with my caique like that, but if he bites too hard then I'll stop and say no biting. If he still does it, I put him in his cage until he calms down. He gets the message.

They figure out what acceptable pressure is and adjust. Just pause and be still when she bites too hard and she'll get the message. :) rough housing with conures is fun!

I agree! It cracks me up and it's just so darn cute! For some odd reason she's very good with the skin between my thumb and pointer finger. She'll bite like a goose on my fingers, but as soon as she gets to that web, she nibbles gently. Maybe she can relate ..but I don't see any webs on her feet!

Lol that's Nika's favorite spot, and like you said, it's always tolerable there, if not pleasant. Actually I usually put that "webbing" up to her to chew when she steps up off her cage because she's so excited she has to chew something. :)
