So I have 2 conures (Sun and GCC) and I have a soft spot for these little critters... They definitely have won me over... I have thought of getting lovebirds but then I always come back to conures... There's just something about them, even with there temperamental days they still have that feathered place in your heart that you just can't resist them. LOL anyone else have this problem?

I have often had this vision of having a place like an aviary for neglected birds or ones that their owners just got too busy for and needed someone who could give them that attention... I also have often wanted to work in a petstore for this reason lol to educate and help people find that perfect bird for them.

I have been very lucky with most of the birds I have been allowed to have a place in their lives. And I have had many chances to help my family and friends with the birds they raise. I have even turned some definite canine people over to the possibilities of living with birds (pros/cons)...

Just looking for thoughts and stories for people to share! :) :)

Conures are hard to resist, i agree. They are big birds in small packages. :)

My flock isn't complete without having at least two conures! :) (and two conures is enough! :D )

I love conures! Had one when I was younger and getting another in a few weeks. The cuddling is the best part to me :)

I recently took in a Sun Conure from PetCo (the poor girl was at the store for a year).
Since I just got her I'm not too sure how comfortable she is, but with time I will figure her out. Here's the best part, she is now comfortable with me holding her, giving me kisses, and (most of all) laying on her back while I hold her. With all that trust I think she will be ok in her new home.

I've had birds all my life but I got my first conure last April, and already she is the most affectionate snugly bird I've ever encountered.

I got my Conure from petco also, she was there for 9 months and they had worked with her. She came very well tamed and friendly towards me. Pineapple (my bird) didn't like the petco bird caretaker. He had to ask me to get her out of the cage. Out of the 10 years he had worked with birds. My bird was the first one that he couldn't handle lol. She loves me though and of course she is my best friend. :)

I had a a budgie as a young teenager. Considered myself very much a 'dog person' as I haven't lived without a dog before.
Until about 6 months ago when I met Perseus my green cheek conure and he opened my eyes to a whole new world!
I had never thought of the words handsome, spunky, cute, cuddly or loving when thinking of birds. But Perseus changed all that, he is so loving and my pal for life.
I didn't even know what a green cheek conure was a year ago but that's all changed, I couldn't imagine coming home with no Perseus!
We just came back from a trip away and I always miss my border collie Bow, but my husband and I admitted that between us, and all you now!, we were missing our green cheek the most! Shhhh don't ever let my dog know that!
Amazing pets, I would recommend to any one who has the time.
