Well, in short succession Nika has finally shed the last clipped feather she had, they're all finally gone, and I'm so glad and relieved. They were clipped so short and it looked so crappy and butchered. So she's got to grow 2 more for a perfect set of wings, and one is already on the way, the pin broke the surface already. They were clipped in late march (before I got her). YAY!

That is great to hear! Prepare for a little flying dinosaur! You and her will have lots of fun. Careful to introduce her to glass windows or partially block it. Boomer knows glass windows BUT when he was having a panic/freak out moment, he actually flew junto it because he was disoriented. Just a heads up!

HOW EXCITING!!! Prissy's wings are butchered! I didn't realize how bad they were until we got Smokey. If Prissy tries to fly she drops to the floor with a HARD THUD. I assumed that was what it was supposed to be like being she was my first bird. Then when we got Smokey last week I realized that wasn't normal. Smokey is clipped as well but not as many feathers and not as short. He is able to fly low and drift softly to the ground. He can also fly slightly up... not far just enough. That is how I want Prissy to be in the future!
