Lately I've noticed the upper part of Boswell's beak has gotten a slightly white hue near the tip. It looks almost as if he's shedding a layer or something. There is no sign of a soft or weakening. Do parrots shed their beaks?

That's exactly what he's doing.....our feathered friends' beaks are actually layered & as the beaks are worn down, layers peel off.....if you ever notice your bird rubbing its beak on perches or cage bars, similar to sharpening a knife on a sharpening steel, he's rubbing off the old layer(s).....

There's nothing to worry about.....

Sometimes random pieces of Lukah's beak will even stick out from his beak at right angles while they're falling off. Don't worry about it!
