Lately I've noticed the upper part of Boswell's beak has gotten a slightly white hue near the tip. It looks almost as if he's shedding a layer or something. There is no sign of a soft or weakening. Do parrots shed their beaks?
That's exactly what he's doing.....our feathered friends' beaks are actually layered & as the beaks are worn down, layers peel off.....if you ever notice your bird rubbing its beak on perches or cage bars, similar to sharpening a knife on a sharpening steel, he's rubbing off the old layer(s).....
