Conure breeders

So, I have decided to buy a Green Cheek Conure. I am having a hard time tracking down breeders though. I am looking for breeders in California in either Orange County or Riverside County. Does anyone know of any? Or how should I go about searching for one? I am willing to wait a while to find the perfect bird I am more worried bout the quality of the breeder.

I wouldn't limit yourself to just local breeders. I got my GCC, Ziva from Echo, shipped by plane and she is a great well adjusted bird.

Although I have to say that with Delta increasing its shipping to $165 (under 9 lbs), not counting the price of a crate, it really ends up adding quite a bit to the price of a bird if you have it shipped!!!

Yes thats one reason I want to find a local breeder. I also want to be able to interact with multiple birds to see which one is right for me. Every bird has a different personality.

Keep in mind that often, breeders already have deposits on babies and the first on the list has priority to choose its baby when they are big enough to be handled. So you need a deposit on a baby ASAP to have first choice. And that means you need to make a commitment to buy. The only time you don't need to do that is at pet store when older babies are available or if breeders have babies "left over", which is not very often. When they do, the birds are older. In the case of personality, GCC will show theirs as they mature....all babies are equally sweet!!

I found my breeder thru Birds Now - Birds and Parrots for Sale and Adoption there are also breeders on eBay Classifieds (Kijiji) - Post & Search Free Local Classified Ads.
