Pepper Redpants-Nanday Conure
Hello! I have been browsing the forum for quite some time and finally decided to join! I have a Nanday Conure: Pepper Redpants. I adopted him from Florida Parrot Rescue, and there wasn't a lot of information about him-not sure what sex, how old, previous owners, etc. So I'm kind of winging it (no pun intended! haha!) with him.

So I'm concerned about a small black spot he has on the bottom of his foot. He's had it for at least a year or so-but it doesn't look red around it, no puffiness or abnormality at all. It looks almost like a little freckle! I decided to google it and of course, it came up with bumblefoot-but the pictures look NOTHING like what he's got.

He is going to the vet next month, but just wanted to check and see if anyone knew what this might be? Thanks!

Kind of looks like a blood spot. Have the vet examine, but if it doesn't change and doesn't bother her, they may not feel any need to investigate it further. If it does change, then obviously the vet will want to know!

I have no idea about the spot, I just wanted to say that I LOVE your conure's name!
It's hilarious, and so appropriate!

Haha! Thanks! I love his name too! I made an appointment for him at his vet and the receptionist was like "Pepper...Red-OH I LOVE HIS NAME HOW CUTE!!" :) Yeah, he's had that spot for quite awhile, so I'll hold out for his vet appointment around Thanksgiving.
