Today i was watching my gcs and noticed that my yellow sided dipped the paper muffin cups in water.
I thought it was odd but not the weirdest they have done.
But after a while i noticed that i didn´t see him dropping the ´´spit balls´´.
I took everything paper out all my cages immediately.
Now i don´t know how long he hos been doing this, thankfully i already have an appointment with an avian vet friday, and will point it out.
Hopefully see can feel it or schedule an x ray or so.
But will it be safe to give carton?i don't want to take all the shredder things away from my birds.
Ques if he don't get it none of my bird will since they creep in each others cages.
Also are there other materials he will be most likely to eat?

Thank you for reading.

so i gave him an muffin cup a while ago so i could observe him without the cage bars,he seemed to drop it all.
Should i give it in their treat bags tomorrow?
Also in his cage he and my other gcc dip the cups in water en then chew on it.
Does anyone elses do this?
He has been getting those paper muffin cups since i got him 3 months ago, shouldn't he have complications already if he ate it?
He has been eating fine.

Paper generally isn't an issue, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful or watch your bird. My GCC, Avery, absolutely adores tearing apart paper, but she doesn't often consume it. For a better answer, here is a link to a website describing safety regarding paper for your birds to play with:

http://www.birdchannel.com/bird-diet-and-health/bird-care/bird-paper-ingestion.aspx

To sum it up, the only time it becomes an issue is if the paper becomes compacted within the crop due to birds lacking the silva to make the paper mushy and malleable for going further into the digestive tract. If you have water available, and if they are making these "spit balls", then there shouldn't be much concern. However, I don't think I would personally recommend letting your parrot consume paper on a regular basis just to take a few preventative measures, and if you do choose to constantly let them, at least be sure to monitor their crop and any changes in behaviour after playing with the paper.

Some parrots also really love to chew on wood, which can also become an issue if improperly digested (as can anything), but generally, like paper, they just like to shred it. Making some more home made toys that are destructible or made out of straw are generally the most fun, and Avery looovvessss destroying those! I have to get her new ones constantly! Goes to show you how expensive little fids can be, hahaha!

Hope this helps, and be sure to talk to your avian veterinarian when you go in for a visit :)

Thank you, it does set me at ease.
I don't use the paper in toys but in foraging.
I put a treat in the paper muffin cup and twist it then put in in a coffee filter and tie it closed.
It is one of the things i can put in their cage when they sleep, the other foraging toys are already found out before they go to bed.
They do have al lot of chew toys ,i got different kind of woods easy and hard, birdie bagels, vine balls, willow sticks and toya from palm leaves.
