My new cage came in the mail today!! I got it all put together and have some stuff in it, i do want some better perches and some more toys but it is way better then the parakeet cage he was in when I got him!!
He is a little upset by the new cage but he is eating and still seems happy.

Nice cage!!! He will love it in no time. Tip for you - make sure his sleeping perch is roughly at the same place it was in the old cage. When I transferred by BFA to a new cage, this was one thing I got wrong and he struggled to sleep until I put his sleep perch back :)

Huge cage! He'll love it pretty soon. Give him a couple days and he'll find the extra space is much, much appreciated!

Looks great! There is so much more space might take him a day or two to get used to it.

he's mainly been staying in one corner of the cage. he is eating and drinking but not moving around much, I hope he gets more used to it so he can start to use his cage and play with his toys.

If he doesn't settle in you can try to section a portion off that way it's a bit smaller and more secure feeling for him. You can then slowly offer more space. It can be unsettling to go from small to giant so fast. The same thing happened with my green cheek conure when I first got him. I stuck him in his big 36 by 24 by 24 cage and he feaked stopped eating and drinking wouldn't move. I put him in an old decent sized cockatiel cage and he settled right away. For a week or so I let him play in and on the big cage and then caged him in it after about two weeks in the smaller cage and he was perfectly fine.

So either you can try to section a small portion of the big cage off or put him back in the small cage and let him explore the big cage as out time. Eventually he should be comfortable enough in the big cage! Or you can give him another day but if he isn't feeling secure in the big cage it would probably be better to try to slowly introduce him to more space.

I know it would seem logical that he should appreciate more space right away but our bird friends have strange reactions to the weirdest things!
