Sun conure "Rocky"
I have my baby boy named rocky :) he's a cutie

Re refuses to sleep in his bed

I had him a bird nest box, a tent bed, a bit of soft fabric for him to sleep next to.
And nothing he just sleeps on his perch.
I'm worried because we will be coming into winter soon and I don't want him to freeze to death!

Should I be worried or am I just being a worry wart?:orange:

Most birds prefer sleeping on perches.

If he lives indoors he'll be ok.

I'm assuming you keep your home at a livable temperature in the winter, so he should be fine (and I certainly hope you wouldn't consider him sleeping outside at those temperatures!). Many birds don't want to "snuggle up" to anything, plus they do grow some extra down feathers in during winter for extra insulation. I would leave the "bed" in his cage, and if it gets cold, he will at least have the option, but you can't force a bird to sleep in one.

My gcc (Turk) couldn't get used to his bed tent for ages until I put a perch through it and I think curiosity got the better of him and now he loves it. Try putting the perch in the tent bed and see how that goes. Let me know how you get on.
