We're making a lot of progress, and Jelly doesn't seem to be plucking, or if she was, it has mostly subsided... but she is losing/growing feathers, so I think we're definitely dealing with molting now.

Anyway, a couple weeks ago I started giving her a powder/supplement called Featheriffic, which claims to "grow fabulous feathers" for molting and plucking birds, and just a few days ago I started spraying her with Bird Bath Spray with Molt Ease after she bathes. This morning she was sitting by the window and her feathers absolutely glisten, and she feels so so soft, so I'm not too worried... And I'm happy to report that after reading almost everything on here, we're making a lot of progress with our feeding routines/habits!!! Which leads me to my question...

Now that I'm feeding her fresh seeds/pellets/veggies daily, I'm beginning to see just how little she eats and just how much goes to waste, including most of her powdered supplement! According to the package directions, I've been sprinkling it over her pellets in the morning, and mixing it in with her veggies in the evening (it clings better to them) but she never finishes any of it!!! Does anyone have any thoughts about mixing it in like 1/2 or 1/4 teaspoon of something like applesauce or yogurt and giving it to her like a little treat each morning? :headwall:

We mix it with applesauce for our new rescue. For the others we mix it with formula. We are also trying to figure out some better options.

Or... is this stuff like "snake oil" and really doesn't make a difference, and we just need to let her do her own thing... she'll be over it when she's over it?!!! :)

Gizzy, when you say you mix it with formula, do you mean like the Kaytee handfeeding formula?

Well, the formula didn't work... I had some leftover, so I thought it might save me a trip to the store. Oh, don't get me wrong, she loved playing in it, but now I have to take the curtains down and wash them! I made the mistake of walking out of the room for a few minutes, and she FLUNG it all over them!!! Guess I'll be going to the store for plan B, applesauce, tomorrow! She has me trained sooo well!
