I've been jumping around a lot about what kind of bird I want. I think I'm going to settle for another green cheek. There is a breeder about 40 minutes from me that has a few babies and the prices are very good. Maybe it's a sign since the other birds I've considered are much farther away. I just emailed her with some questions. She is a nice lady, I've dealt with her before. I'm hoping she leaves their wings full and weaned them to pellets and fresh foods. I'm hoping to clicker train this bird so a good diet is very helpful. I have always had good experiences with green cheeks so I'm hoping to have another. Well wish me luck. Hopefully you'll be seeing a "New bird" thread soon.

I just replied to your other thread before I saw this one. Since you already have experience with two green cheeks, you'll know what they're like at least! Do you want a male or female in particular? Any specific color mutation?

That's how I feel. I know green cheeks better than other birds. I can tolerate their noises no problem. My two are rescues that were originally untame. So imagine what I can do with a baby. So much potential! l I prefer male parrots since then you can avoid egg laying issues--which I am terrified of. But these babies probably won't be sexed so it could be either. I have no personal preference with color mutations. The turquoise are cool. My thoughts are I am not going to pay more money just for a different color when they are all the same kind of bird. I have a normal and a cinnamon. These babies are pineapple but they look cinnamon to me. Here's a picture of them.

They're cute! You're right... those are Cinnamons for sure. I think the Cinnamon are pretty. I'm also terrified of the egg issues. You already have one girl though.

That's exciting news for you! I know you'll post pics soon as you get him/her!

Paco is probably a boy, based on behavior. Yeah my cockatiel Pearl is a girl though. She is the second bird I had egg binding troubles with. The first being Jack's mate, who died. But Pearl hasn't laid any eggs since. I push the calcium a lot more now. I also have a pet chicken but she is far less prone to egg issues. Bella, despite his name is probably a boy. Jack doesn't try to mate with him or court him at all. I'm almost positive they are just two boys. They aren't possessive over one another or really too attached. Jack is definitely a boy though.

Bella loves almost everyone and is a little more daring than Jack. With her broken beak she can't really bite that hard so people don't mind holding her. Jack has nerve damage in his feet so he has some gripping trouble sometimes. He isn't as daring and he is very specific about who he will go to. Jack was just a breeder bird when I got him so he's come a long way. I'm hoping the new baby will display some behaviors that they don't. Like interacting with objects or fooling around and playing.
