I've been looking for one for a long time and I've finally found one.

He is beautiful, adorable, very sweet, three months old and he LOVES cuddles and head scratches.

I also have some news about Merle (YSGCC), my grandma was staying with us for two weeks while she was having some work done on her house and she really liked Merle while she was staying, and he loved her at first sight. She spent all day playing with him and he followed her everywhere. So when she went home, little Merle went home with her.

My grandma is a bird lover too so she knew how to care for him, I just couldn't keep him knowing he loved my grandma so much and she was lonely at her house (she just lost her Blue Fronted Amazon that she had for 20 years), so I decided to let her keep him. I am sad that he is gone, but I know he will be really happy with her. She has renamed him Tweety.

Anyway, since I simply love the name Merle and it is a unisex name, I have decided to call my new Blue Crown Merle.

Here are some pictures of him.

Merle is beautiful, congratulations! (Did you get the name from Walking Dead?)
I think it is such a wonderful thing that you let your Grandma take the previous Merle home with her. I bet that meant the world to her, and sounds like he picked her as well:)

I am so thrilled you finally got a Blue Crowned Conure. He's so cuddly and sweet. I can't stop squeezing his feathers :) Thanks for giving Grandma the old Merle. They are so happy together.

Congrats on Merle II. He looks like an absolute sweetheart! And while I'm sure it was tough, I think it's lovely you let Merle I go home with you grandma if they truly belonged together:) Best of luck with your new friend.

Thanks. No, I didn't get the name from that. I just wanted a bird related name, so I looked up some names that meant bird on the internet, and I found Merle, which means Blackbird.

Yeah, she is really happy with him. :) She lives on her own, she did live with her Amazon but it just passed away recently so she was lonely and really sad so I let her take home Merle. It was a hard decision, but I think it was the right thing to do. She loves him and he loves her.

Aww, That is the sweetest most unselfish caring act you could have done, most people here know the pain of losing a feather loved one, I'm sure giving Merle to your grandma has gone a long way to help heal her heart

Thank you so much for sharing this story!!

EDIT: And Merle II is BEAUTIFUL, best of luck with him

Joe
