So a few minutes ago I was sitting on the couch with Dusty and he was chatting little tunes I have taught him. Well he climbed off of me and onto the couch. I wasn't quite sure where my cats were so I reached to get him. I put my finger in front of him and said "step up." He skirted around my finger so I tried again, saying "step up." He again skirted around my finger, this time though, I heard him say "step up." It wasn't perfect, though it definitely sounded like "Step up." He continued to skirt around stepping up so I kept trying, and he kept repeating me. This went on for about five or six times before he finally stepped up.

I'm so unbelievably proud of my baby!

It is so fantastic when they start talking. Just like the first words from your human child. Now your are off and running. You should hear Rosie sneeze. It is so good. Now I am saying bless you after she sneezes and will find out where that goes.

It is fantastic. I honestly thought all I was ever going to get out of him is music tunes. He surely loves to sing.

Congra'ts your patience is paying off. Of course you heard him correctly, LoL he's just whispering.
It improves day by day.
I have a friend who's AG said his first words after 9 years. Jessie is now 17 years old, still only says a few words. He is a very affectionate and loving Grey.
As I always say keep talking and talking and talking.......
