hi everyone!jollie my sun conure is about 1 year+ and i've had her since she was about 4 months old.

so far she has only allowed me to touch her on the beak, its impossible to touch her anywhere else and really i don't mind. i understand that not all are cuddly. But recently, she has started biting me even if i don't bother her…like my hand or leg is just there doing nothing and she runs over to bite it, and when she bites its not the warning kind of bite but the kind that is meant to hurt(??)

well the part that i don't understand is that she obviously does like me quite a lot and i figure our bond is not bad. when i get home she screams for me, wants attention. She can recall well and we do outdoor free flying together. Just a few days ago, she jail broke out of her cage and flew off to a tree about 10 storeys high, my helper tried to recall her back but she refused. But the moment i stepped out of the car when i was home and called her name she flew down immediately. so i guess she dosen't hate me?

if thats the case why the sudden biting? is there anyone out there with a parrot like this too? would be great if there's anyone that can relate to this and offer some advice:)

here are some pics of her

Have you the time for her that you used to?

Birds can be very resentful, and are more than happy to punish neglectful owners. But this "neglect" in their mind could simply be a change in the routine they're used to. Say a change in working hours or what have you.
