Re: replacement bowls

Hi All,
I';ve been all over the internet looking for two 3 inch bowls that will mount to the top of a play tree. I got with it this weekend and made Sheldon a PVC play tree. Almost done, just need the bowls that I can screw to the tops. They all seem to come in large sizes. I really like the stainless steel bowls. Could I just have a screw welded to the bottom or is there a place to find the 3 inch diameter bowls with screws to mount to the tree?
thanks

Re: replacement bowls

I'm pretty sure this is a 3in diameter, you can drill a hole horizontally and slide it through, then wing nut it. You can call them. They ship, very good people there.

Re: replacement bowls

I'm going to check the pet stores again. I'm thinking I could drill a hole and use a washer and screw for the water bowl anyway.

Re: replacement bowls

Hmm.. you've probably already looked, but since you said you're gonna check the pet store again..

My local bird store just sells bowls with screws welded onto the bottom. Maybe if you asked they could order some, and they just don't keep them in stock?

I just drilled the hole in the top caps, 1/4", and glued a nut to the bottom of the bowls. I'm afraid they may not hold. So far they are holding his weight. It's just not clean looking, you know.

Could I get that phone number from you and see what they have available? I really like the stainless steel look. Mine are plastic condiment bowls. I was also told to check for stainless steel food grade hardware.

I really dont want this project costing a ton, I just want it safe and functional.

Sheldon wasnt sure about it at first till he saw me putting food in one of the bowls :D

Oh, I meant maybe they could order them at your local birdstore.

I got mine at Birdz and Beyond, but they're just a tiny little store in Arizona. I'm not sure if they ship? I suppose you could always ask! They're super nice people. Or at least, maybe they could tell you the brand and then you could look online for them?
