So our Peep is picky, picky! Only way he eats pellets is softened with apple juice. Of course I oblige him. Non sweetened apple juice, organic of course. Anyone else have a picky eater? What works for you?
A nice NY Strip seasoned with garlic, salt, and pepper cooked in butter works for me. As for my birds, they are so picky but with time they have been a little better about things. Try spritzing the pellets less and less until they are barely softened, This may take a month.
Yes, my SC is picky, but he eats pellets and not seed, which is a plus. Sassy is more picky as she loves seed! I got a mix that doesn't have sunflower seeds in it because she would pick every sunflower seed out and eat it and leave the rest. She likes the other seeds too, but not as much as sunflower. She will her pellets too...she seems to prefer Roudybush to Harrisons. They are both VERY picky with fruits and veggies though. That is a never ending struggle. They will take a couple bites of different things but not alot. I keep trying different things...maybe I will hit on a favorite one of these days.
My conure Paddy is very picky. My best bet to get some nutrition in him is homemade French toast lots of egg in the batter just a little milk, vanilla, cinnamon. No syrup a bit of cinnamon and sugar He's crazy about it. It's convenient 4 eggs milk half cup 8 slices bread and birds and family have a good breakfast. Bonita
