I don't know what made today's breakfast so special! Peep always loves breakfast but today he just disappeared in his food dish for the longest time!

Cranberries, celery, and carrots...must remember that combination. Then, a couple of Cheerios to finish it off.

Now standing happy and fluffy on his perch.

I imagine celery is not advised like iceberg lettuce isn't advised. Not much nutritional value. Though I wouldn't hold me to that

Cheerios not advised regularly- they are fortified with many thousands of times the RDA of vits and minerals for birds. Believe it or not it is possible to overdose on minerals which can cause blood problems and crystallization of the kidneys.

Celery has little nutritional value and the stringy bits can cause the crop to become impacted!

Yes, celery doesn't have much nutritional value so Peep doesn't get it but once in a blue moon.

Just was sharing how nicely Peep ate today.

I never used celery since we don't eat it here, and I hate it! I'm thinking maybe they say that because of possible impaction of the "strings" celery has? If it's chopped up small should be okay. I've seen it being given at a bird store.

The very few times I have given peep celery, it's finely chopped mixed in his regular food.

He's eaten like crazy everything I've given him today. Love watching him eat with such gusto.

The celery is finely chopped and only a treat. Vet says it's ok this way.

Sounds like Peep really enjoyed his breakfast! It's a good day when all or any of my birds dive into their bowls and love every beak full.
