He's too cute! :) My Cody HATES the computer, lol, but that's just because he knows it takes some of my attention away from him. :p If I start using the mouse or typing keys, he charges at me and bites me, lol. He'll also go and attack the mouse when I'm not using it "just to be sure".

GCCs are VERY photogenic. They love having their picture taken and will pose readily.

Auggie on the other hand becomes irate if I try to take a picture. I've tried being sneaky, but I can't fool him. He goes nuts if he sees a camera.

He must think having his picture taken would steal his soul.

Thanks! He may look sweet and innocent but today he is on a nipping spree! My hands, neck and arms look like they have been through a shredder. I've been trying everything and nothing seems to be working. He steps up great but once hes on me is when he starts beaking lightly then harder and harder. I don't know what to do!

From what I hear conures tend to be a bit nippy. When he does firmly say NO - I also read somewhere to blow in his face. If he keeps going give him time out and ignor him completely for a little while. Just be aware that he has just had a long trip and is in a new home with new people so may be a little unsettled or just testing what he can get away with.

Please keep us posted

Thanks, I have just been playing games with him and giving him toys instead of skin. He still wants to bite the skin but its not as bad. Its almost like hes teething or something lol

I have four people living with me and everyone gives him a TON of attention. Hes super friendly to everyone! I dont think the bites are out of anger, just exploring and testing his surroundings. I just hope I'm doing the right things with him :)

While not all conures are nippy (i've never heard of nippy Suns, Blue Crowns, Jendays, etc), green cheeks in particular are one of the nippiest of the conure species. Cody used to bite crazy hard when I first got him. The trick I used that stopped his biting really quickly is the "earthquake" method his breeder taught me. When he bites, wobble your hand/arm. This will knock him off balance and stop him from biting. Some argue that this method won't work because it'll just make them bite harder trying to catch themselves, but it they are falling you are doing it too hard! Just enough for them to go "woah..." and that's enough to stop it. Cody stopped biting in a matter of days and never bit harder because of it. I would honestly do this before blowing in their face, which just makes my green cheek agitated.

I read somewhere to do that as well, and I also read to not do it! lol There are so many contradictions when it comes to these little guys:p I think I may have found the trick for Hiroshi. I just offer him something else to chew on and find new and exciting toys for him(Im going to be broke from buying bird toys lol) So far it has worked....but that was today, who knows about tomorrow!

He's beautiful...A little ball of trouble in a cute disguise;)

Thanks Ben! haha yes he is definitely a handful so far:cool: He HATES going back in his cage, he will bob his head up and down and call for me to come take him out. He was out ALL day today....I'm really trying not to be a pushover, I don't want to create future problems!
