A few questions about my turquoise

I've had Ludo for about 2 1/2 years. He's started to become a big weenie when I bring in new toys. He obsessed with one or two toys and will play with those all day, mainly the bells. I brought in a new chew toy and he'll stay at the bottom of the cage. Sometimes he'll forget it's there and then get spooked all over again. It's been about four days and he's able to get to his food and bed and water just fine. Wants nothing to do with the new toy. I even tried playing with it in front of him but he'd rather get on my hand to get out.

I just recently took him to the vet for a check up and wing clip. She said he's not overweight but slightly chubby. She approved of my diet for him as well. She suggested foraging toys to help him get some exercise.

Do you have any suggestions how I can go about this? Getting him to play with the foraging toys? And exactly what foraging toys work well for little conures? How else can he get exercise? He gets playtime out of the cage everyday.
