When we got our Parrot they told us that his wings were clipped but he got out of his cage today and flew everywhere. He is 7 months old, how long does it take for them to have to have it done again.

Also, I have read here that your Parrot is banded is that the band on his foot? What does that mean?

Clipped doesn't mean a bird can't fly, and quite honestly a clip should never fully take away flight. They should still be able to have some lift so they can land safely should they try to take off. At 7 months old they have have simply given him a soft clip (like my breeder did for my IRN) and he may have molted in a few of the clipped flight feathers. You can get them clipped again at anytime, but it's often best to wait until they have grown in a bit so that you can approximate when his next clip will be needed.

The bands just simply means a breeder has his number written down in their books and that he is legally born and bred in captivity, not illegally caught and smuggled in.
