after 29 days past the 4th egg laid we took the eggs out...not fertile...we didn't candle them because it was our sun conures first eggs and she was doing everything right..we didn't want to upset her... shes out flying around today after taking the eggs out......getting exercise after a long time on the eggs...my questions are....should i take the nesting box off the cage? will she lay eggs again soon? she looks great but i'm worried about stressing her body...even our male seemed to do great throughout this......hes 5 years old and our female is 7.....thanks...

I apologize if you've mentioned this in a previous thread, but are your male and female housed together? Are they set up as a breeding pair / do you WANT to have babies?
If the male copulates with your female, she may decide to lay the eggs elsewhere if the nestbox isn't present.
If you want to give her a rest, remove the box, and house them in separate cages for a while.

thanks a lot....they are housed together...their happy together...they have been together maybe 6 months...they get out every day...but like their cage time too....in fact we found as long as they get out of the cage time for as little as half an hour a day they do well.....it would be neat to have babies...maybe not all the time though....do you think they would feel ok in separate cages? they groom each other..even though their tight with each other their still not bad with us...a nice pair...another thing....there was no egg laying before we put the nesting box up...the box went up and it was a hit! they loved it and she laid eggs in not too long...

If the egg laying didn't start until AFTER you provided the box, then YES, by all means, remove it for a while.

It's actually not neat to have babies! It takes a lot of work then to just put them together and put up a nest box then hoping they would raise chicks. One or both can be infertile. But sometimes they need multiple practice to make it right. If you don't remove the box now they will do it again. You need to let them rest inbetween cause its harsh on the momma to keep on laying. Are you providing calcium supplements? Learn how to breed responsibly, how to hand feed if needed, feed nutritional food for the parents, etc.

we are taking the nesting box off today...these two are really loving each other again.....i did raise crow babies quite a few times in the 60s..70s...even sparrow hawks....as well as many other baby animals so i have some experience in raising babies...no parrots though...we looked quite a while for a conure that we thought might be nice for a companion for our conure..it wasn't love at first sight...took about 3 months for them to start falling in love...i think we would do a good job hand raising if we had babies .. i just got up and took the nest box off...they seem fine...thanks for the help..we don't want to stress out our birds for sure......

When they do have fertile eggs, you could always have mom and dad raise them. Just start handling them (the chicks) daily once their eyes open.
