Good treats for sun conures

Hello-

I'm looking for some good treats for my sun conure. I have almonds for him but he seems to be bored with them.He hasn't been cracking them for about 3 weeks now..they just sit in his cage..He will eat them if I crack them for him but the breeder told me to not do this. Also, can someone please recommend a good book/video for teaching Sun conures how to perform tricks and speak. Thank You..

First if all, a very big warm welcome to the forums from my birds and I; pleased to meet you!

For treats, I'd reccomend that you try sprouts. Birds love sprouts, and most importantly, they're so incredibly healthy for the birds too. Here are instructions on how to sprout: Sprouting for Birds

For training, I'd reccomend buying a video or two from www.birdtricks.com. They are professional bird trainers, and bird behavioral experts. They have awesome videos that range in information on ttaming a bird all the way to teaching the birds tricks.
