I have a quick question about Black-Capped Conures. Hopefull you can answer them all!:)

1. How long does the average BCC live?
2. How much attention/loving do the need?
3. What is their usual temperment

I really appreciate you reading this!
Thank You! :D

1. The "average" BCC - probably around 15 years. With a great diet, lots of exercise, and plenty of mental stimulation, then you're looking at 20-30 years.

2. A minimum of four hours a day, with short training sessions (no more than 5-10 minutes at a time) during that time.

3. Most of the BCC's I've met are full of sass and attitude, can be nippy, but when they love they love! They're the smallest species of conures, so they have little-big-man syndrome ;)

I have one bird. He is a Black Capped Conure and his name is Harley. His hatch date is 2/3/2014.
I have a BCC and he is the craziest little guy I've ever seen! They can live 20-30 years. The more attention you give to them and more hands on time you spend with them, they will be less aggressive and are more likely to be more behaved around new people. My little harley is with me from the time I get up, until I put him in his cage for the night. He has free reign of the house. But his favorite spot is anywhere on me. I give him a pellet based diet and seed for a treat. He also like to eat(or try to eat) whatever I have. We share apples and peanut butter in the morning. He loves his baths. I got him in December of last year and have spent just about all of my time with him. He's really good about not biting new people (but he will let you know when he's had enough). He preens my boyfriends and I's hair. He gives kisses. And he's starting to pick up on certain words. His new one is 'Uh oh'. The more you give to them, they'll give you back in return.
