Just a question about my Sun Conure

Well as I stated before Popsicale is only 6 months old so I don't think my question is due to hormans but I may be wrong so I'm asking the experts here.

I'm gaining his trust each and everyday. I did loose it for a bit but he is starting to come around again. What happened I bought him July 10 and I had him about two weeks and decided to move his cage and it made him mad. So he actually stopped getting "On" my elbow and would even consider getting on me at all. But he still let me pet him and love on him and now yesterday he started kissing my on the lips, but this is all from his cage door, but I didn't push the matter so today I offered my elbow (he won't consider my hand) and he's gotten on twice today. So he is starting to come back around.

But my question is even before he got mad at me and stop getting on me, he would turn around and put his tail in the air and raise his but with his chest down on the door of the cage and let me pet him there. And through his little mad spell he still would do this. So I was just curious if it meant anything or not.

Strange... hormonal beahvior is the first thing that comes to my mind when I read this. Just my opinion.

Are you sure the bird is only 6 months old and a male? Because what you described sounds like a female 'presenting' and they never do that when they are that young or a male.

Well I don't know if it is male or female, I just call it he. And I bought it at Petco and they told me he was around 6 months old, of course I am still fighting to get his papers. And he don't like men, well let me say he don't like anyone but me but he likes men the least, I've only had him 3 weeks.

He gets "ON" instead of step up. But the only time he will get on my hand is if he happens to get away from the cage, but from the door of his cage he will use my elbow instead of the hand. But I can reach in to pet him in the cage no problems, this took me about a week to do. But be it on the perch or his cage door he will trun and put his behind up in the air and chest down. But he don't do it all the time.

Well, the fact that he doesn't like men does not mean that it's a female (this was one of those things that everybody believed years ago but has since been debunked a million times) but, like I said, sounds like a female presenting to me and that would make her considerably older than 6 months.
