I haven't worn nail polish since bringing Tiki home two months ago, but yesterday I put on red nail polish (my favourite nail colour to wear). Boy, did Tiki ever want to bite my fingers off! I quickly decided to remove it because I didn't want him to develop biting problems. Boo hoo, I love my red nail polish :(. Oh well, I can live with that... I used to have a job where I couldn't wear nail polish or wear makeup:11: But is this common and do you think sometime during his life I can wear nail polish again? I can work with the biting when he's older (maybe 5 years or older), but now since he's still a baby and developing his personality, I didn't want to promote biting.

I had the same problem with my Lolli, he would go crazy trying to bite the polish off! I just kept telling him, off! and he got the message eventually.
Same thing with my earrings, the pain!!! He's jut over a year now and he ignores my nails and ears…he likes to bite my lips now….

Do you think I should try wearing polish now to get him used to it... I just didnt want to do anything to encourage biting and him developing the habit of biting. Maybe I should try a colour other than red as I hear they don't like red?? Did lolli develop biting issues from it?

Any more experiences from others here?

Try black or blue. :09: Just kidding! Try whatever color that tickles your fancy, and then have your bird get used to it. I know...easier said than done, but once Tiki realizes that the colorful things attached to your fingers are still yours, and mean no harm, he should be fine. :)
