young green cheek - unexplained squawking

Hi, I have a young green cheek who is nearly weaned. What's weird is that he is squawking every few seconds, only when out of the cage. It's not hunger, he continues after being fed. and it's not lack of attention, he does it while being played with/cuddled. Any ideas? We make sure he gets plenty of sleep, he's on formula and starting to eat his Harrisons pellets along with other small things we offer him. Advice appreciated, I've read tons of threads and articles but none refer to squawking while OUT of the cage. Thanks!

He may just be expressing his happiness for being out and with you. Is it a distressed noise or just general bird noise?

it's like a call noise, every few seconds, it definitely doesn't sound distressed.
