Hey guys, below is my new cage for the green cheeked conure i'm getting. I hope that it looks good to you guys. Now some of you were telling me NOT to use the food dishes at the bottom of the cage(in the picture)because birds like being high up when they eat and he might poop in the water(yuck)

But I just found out that i'm able to put the water and food dishes anywhere I want in the cage!!! So should I still use them. I already bought the crock-pots for the bird but i'm having a problem with that. See you guys told me to put them high up so I put them as high as they could go with perches right next to them(see the pictures) But now I'm very limited to where I can put toys and other things because I don't want them pooped on. So should I just use the normal food bowels and just put them lower?

I was also wondering if you guys think it's a little stuffy in the middle part.........

I'm working on making homemade toys so it's not completely finished :p

Thanks guys

Wow! The cage looks really nice! The food dishes don't need to be too high up,just around the higher middle of the cage. Toulouse's water/food dishes are oposite eachother, and smack dab in the center of her cage. I've only found poop in her dises once once... I see more poop on her perches then her dishes! LoL

P.S about the cage.. You should put in some more 'soft rope' perches for her in the cage. Too many dowls/woods and her little feets will hurt!

Thanks Cass, yeah I think I will get some more comfey perches. I think i'm gonna buy some of those long twister comfy perches. What would you suggest? Yeah i'll try lowering them. How did you get the water/food dishes in the middle of Toulouse's cage? Thanks again

p.s. You know what I really like about this cage? They put little doors on the side of the cage so if I need to hang a toy or put a perch in I can easily do it. :)

Haha, awesome. In my cage there are four doors on the side of the cage that have built-in food dish holders :) I only use two of the holder though! LoL!!

I think the cage looks great, although it could use some more colourful things in there. Also a good majority of things will probably get pooped on so I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as its not going into their food and water.
It's an awesome size! Your lil green cheek is going to have a castle! :D

Hahaha Thanks guys! Yeah one of the things I really wanted to make sure was if the cage was big enough. I mean hey! I said, "this will be his "home" for the rest of his life. Only fair to make it the best it can be"I was thinking the exact same thing Beilana, I need more color. I was thinking: I once had a dove with a HUGE cage and what I did was go to walmart and I bought a lot of fake vines and flowers and made it look pretty. Do you think that would be a good idea for this cage? I'm not sure what else I can put in to make it have colorsI'm still making toys and once the trees and grass drys up(we had a huge rain yesterday :p)i'm going to go out and cut some perches, I know what and what not to get so don't worry. :)

Uhhh, when can I move in??? LOL

Seriously, looks great. As Beilana said, put just a little more color in it. Really doesn't matter what the bird poops on, just as long as it's not the food/water dishes. Bartleby has a favorite perch and right below is one of her toys, on bother, LOL. Just once a month, give all toys and perches a good scrubbing.

Hope that helps.
