Never thought he is going to attach to me so fast, but Sunny is getting more and more comfortable with me everyday. Now he is perching on top of my Mac while cleaning his nails contentedly. I try my best not to let him perch on my shoulder (yet) which he tries to do very so often, but I let him perch on my arms. I need to do some works today, so now he is sitting on my laptop instead, while listening to his favourite music. He loves every songs from Richard Clayderman, LOL>

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Am I the only one who thinks that bird looks more like a Jenday conure than a Sun conure?!

It's been a long time since Py was a baby, so it's possible his wing feathers were once entirely green like that. Maybe I'm just not remembering so good anymore?!

No, I actually think that, too. He has less yellow on the top of his wings, but the breeder insisted he is a juvenile Sun. I guess I am going to wait until he is molting. Well, it doesn't matter to me, I will love him whichever he is.

Honestly, I've had both, and there is really little to no difference in personality. Just a difference in wing color.

And the first molt will tell... If the yellow starts coming in on the wings then it's a sun. If not it's a Jenday.

So true. Another thing, for Aratinga, he is well, super quiet. Probably because he is young and in new environment? He seldom makes noises, only little contented squawk when he is comfortable. He only gives these loud piercing calls a few times just before bed time, then suddenly goes quiet until morning, and one more loud scream when I greet him in the morning. The rest of the day he either busy eating or climbing around, playing with toys, chewing some wood, or sleep. I hope he keeps that personality as long as possible :D lol, but I am expecting some noises from Aratinga. It's their nature.

Great pictures! I know very little about the conure family, but I do have 2 Suns. My Suns both have had at least 50% yellow on their wings since coming home (as babies). I couldn't care less unless Jendays are quiter. Then I would be chanting Jenday, Jenday, Jenday. Lol.

Best wishes for you and your new baby!

My sun conure only vocalized at mealtimes, when I came home from work, and first thing in the morning when I got up. Unless something spooked him and set off the conure alarm.

My Jenday came to me with spoiled bird syndrome and was a screamer when I got her. It eventually got better... but she was LOUD! As was the little spoiled Dusky that came with her... He was even LOUDER!!

For a moment I thought you had put your baby on a macaw! What a relief, haha. Good to hear you two are getting along!
I hope it stays that way. Me and my boy have been together a year and are still very much in love.
Best of luck to you and Sunny!
