Golden Conures are b-e-a-utiful birds but I hear they are indeed very loud, comparable to Patagonians or mini macs. Most birds are too loud for apartments, but I've heard stories of people who've pulled it off successfully. I can't recall how, though. The birds must have been very well behaved.
I have two, a male and female. Their squawk is loud but not piercing like a sun conure. And I they'll go on squawking tirades but it doesn't go on non-stop. They only time it bothers me is when they are squawking to ask me for something they want that they can't have. That's when they won't stop until I cover them, which works to quiet them every time. In my opinion their voice level is not the loudest or most disturbing among parrot species. Btw, I just joined this forum today and don't know how to navigate. Can someone teach me how to find a golden conure forum? I want to ask what others are feeding their goldens because I think they are complaining to me that they want different foods, even though I 'm feeding them what we're taught the should have, Harrison's and ZuPreem.
