Hi,

Havn't posted much in a while. My conures are still growing up and are both a little over a year old now. I raised them both together since they were about 2 months old. They are super smart, funny, and very inquisitive. We all love pictures right so here are some of my lovely babies.

Mango is my female Sun Conure. She loves to play, is very curious and super acrobatic. Hanging upside down is a "way of life" for her.

Tango is my male Gold-Capped Conure , aka Mangos loverboy. They are a tightly bonded pair. He is a laid back guy, who came to me as a baby from a bad home in Florida. He is now tame and happy but still very jumpy and slow to trust people. He is about 3 weeks older than his wife. Apparently, Gold-Capped Conures are rare in Texas and was told I may be the only one in Houston with one.

The lovely couple together!

I try to give them whatever they need to live a happy healthy life. :)

Took some more pics of them playing around...I like to post their pics so I can look back and see how they've grown.

Mango will literally hang upside down, all day if I let her...she will "wuff, wuff" at passing dogs and bob her head like crazy when cars drive by. She is so entertaining.

Here, she loves to eat the wild bird seed I grew out for them in our garden to enjoy foraging outdoors. Hopefully it kind of simulates their native jungle instincts.

Here is our boy Tango gaurding our Tomatoes from pesky critters. He is official sentry of our flock.

And the cute couple, loving it up after some fun in the sun...

My heart just melted a little, and grew 3 sizes today. This is so sweet, more pictures please!

Are their wings clipped? Is that how you're able to take them outside without a harness?

Thank you everyone for the nice comments. I really feel welcome here!!

It is nice to know I can share my conures with you guys as most of the people I work and socialize with get weirded out when I talk about my birds....

I don't get it, I mean...I listen to others yap about their dogs and cats...

Anyway...to answer the question above, My Sun Conure is clipped but only because she like to play "run-away". One time when we were free-flight training, she somehow got into a 50 foot tree that she was too afraid to come down from...I had to climb way up there to get her little orange butt down....so now she stays clipped until we can practice more on free-flight...

Tango Boy is a special bird...he is a nervous guy and doesn't like head scratches or being petted in general, but he makes up for it with his intelligence and training potential.

I am proud to say he is fully flighted and he comes back to my hand or shoulder when I call his name. It's actually amazing to see him get all excited when we go towards the backyard door....he literally jumps off as soon as the door opens and take a quick lap around the backyard and lands back on my shoulder.

On really nice days, I leave the door open and let them play in the garden, while I work in the kitchen where I can see them. Tango will fly from tree to tree and then when he is tired or hungry, he always flys into the kitchen and land on the table like it is no big deal...what a show off!!

But I dont think I will let them play outside without me out there anymore as I have seen hawks soaring above recently.

Anyway, no pictures lately as Houston has seen rain for a few days now...hopefully we can get some sun tomorrow and get the crazy couple outside again. They are starting to get antsy.

Yes, they live together in the same cage indoors. They literally are together all. the. time. You would think they are conjoined or something.

It is funny because they seem to consult each other for every decision taken...

Mango: Hey sexy, lets go eat some fruits from our ugly old dads hand.

Tango: Sure baby, but only papayas today, ok??? You know you get carried away with those yummy mangoes.

Mango: Well, you couldn't resist this Mango, could you??

Tango: Touche...lets eat!!

If I separate them for even 2 minutes, they go insane (while driving me insane) calling for each other.
