Dusty: Dusky Conure
Hey all! Its been a while since I have been able to sign on. Been busy with college and all.

So, here's my story. Before I left for school this semester, i was unable to clip Dusty's wings. With this in mind I warned my family, telling them to be careful when they took him out. Well, Dusty does not like men. He hates my father and attacks him whenever he gets close. My little brother can get him out of the cage but even that takes work. My mom is close to Dusty. Dusty gets along really well with her when i am not home. My sister is afraid of Dusty cause she has seen him bite my dad so many times that she avoids him. Well Saturday night my mom was at work, my sister went out with friends and i was an hour and a half away at school. My little brother who promised to help take care of Dusty while i was away at school decided after he changed Dusty's food and water that he would take Dusty out of his cage being that he hasnt had a chance to be out all day. So my brother opens the cage and Dusty who like being out of his cage gave my brother no problems coming out of his cage. well, my father walked past my brother when he was holding Dusty, and Dusty strongly disliking my father, bit my brother and then flew into the kitchen where the ceiling fan was on. He landed above the kitchen cabinets. My brother tried to catch him and eat time he flew to a different cabinet. Thats when my brother noticed one of my cats were inside. and would you know it? it was the only cat in my house who thinks of stalking Dusty as a sport 0.o So giving up on trying to catch dusty at the moment, my brother decides to catch the cat and lock him in a room until they can get Dusty back in his cage. Well the cat knows that hunting dusty is a no-no so he runs every time my brother tries to get him. Needless to say my brother chanced the cat out of the kitchen for well over an hour until my mom got home and stood under the cabinet and raised her arm up to Dusty calling him over. He flew the short distance to her arm and she gave him some lovings then put him back in the cage. My brother and dad learned that night not to take Dusty out when his wings aren't clipped when my mom or I are not home ^.^

I dont mind when Dusty is flighted. I just worry because I have two cats, one of which loves to stalk anything that moves. Not to mention my family is rather careless most of the time, so i dont trust Dusty flighing around the house with them being careless like leaving stuff out that could hurt him or by leaving the back door open like then tend to. So while Dusty and I live with them his wings will be clipped. I graduate with my bachelors degree in May and plan to move out of my house shortly thereafter. When i get a place of my own, I plan to let Dusty have more freedom around the house
