I have had my pgc cody for 3 days now and he is so so friendly. He paces his cage to let me know he wants out,but that isnt my problem.
When he is on me he has a habit of really nipping my ears or if i want to take hold of him to put him back in his cage he throws a right stroppy and bites and flaps his wings its not to bad but i need to know how to stop it now before it gets worse.

Any advice please?

I usually try to persuade folks against allowing their birds on their shoulder, you lose all control of what happens or might happen, sudden fright and flight, biting (as nofearengineer pointed out, ever wonder why there were so many one eyed pirates?), and the all dreaded, now that I'm up here just try and catch me to get me off :09:, and there is the ever present issue of getting pooped on, that one can be worked out to some degree as birds are pretty regular in their duty schedule :), anyway it may be a convienient way to transport your bird, but the side effects from it are anything but, as Ausiie Ben says, for the bird to be on your shoulder he/she must first earn the privilege, so I guess the short answer to the biting delema would be until Cody earns it, no more on the shoulder, as for thorowing a fit when put back in his cage when put back immediatly reward him with a treat, you can stand there for a couple of minutes and praise him as well for being good, if he continues to be out of control, walk away, try this every time and hopefully sooner or later he'll figure out this is the way it is, hope that helps :)

3 days is extremely new to him and his surroundings. First, do not aloud him on your shoulder. If his behavior is not acceptable he does not belong there. Second, what do you mean when you "take hold of him" to put him back? Are you asking him to step up or are you wrapping your hand around him? You have not gained this birds trust yet. It will take patience and time. Sometimes weeks and months. He will not show acceptable behavior till he trusts you and knows you mean well. I recommend you spend some quiet time with him, just talking, praise and giving treats to him. Do not force him to do what he is uncomfortable with. With time you will develop a great bond and he will grow to trust and love you.

Find a treat that he truly loves. This also takes some time. Try pinenuts unshelled or even unshelled sunflower seeds or pieces of grapes.

what kind of treat would i be able to give him? i have heard they can have meal worms is this correct?

Yes they can have meal worms, if using live worms I would suggest that you cut the heads off, especially when using the larger worms, they don't die easily and they can actually bite the bird on the way to digestion from the inside, you might try using a different treat if squeamish :09:, bugs in the diet provide a good source of protien :)
