I was gone on vacation for 10 days. My husband watched sprinkles when I was gone.

I got back last night and said hi to him for a little bit. I let him out this morning for a little bit he was crazy and wanted me. Tonight I really wanted to play with him but he was just too crazy. Too excited and cranky it was right before his bed time. I also notice he is starting to molt . He is turning 6 months soon. He wants so badly to be with me. I just can not let him on my shoulder. I can not trust him. But he loves the shoulder so much.

It's hard right now. I wish he could fly that would burn off extra energy. I feel like he is how my dog was when she was young. My dog needed a 2 mile run not walk to be happy and good. If she did not get her runs she would look for trouble. This BCC is the same way I feel. She also needed lots of training and work too. It just take time.

I only had sprinkles a month then left him with my husband who he kind of knew. I felt bad we really were getting some where before I left. Now that I am back it is like we need to start over. I would love to just let him out to play and run around but all he wants is to be on my shoulder and I love that. But he bites me. I try and watch him with a hand held mirror because I know a lot of the reason he bites me is because I can not see what he wants.

Tonight upset me. He was so nippy but wanted to be with me so badly it just killed me. How do you deal with that. I tried to keep him on my hands but it was not good enough he wants shoulder time. I know my husband let him just run up his shoulder at times. I was only putting him on the shoulder as a reward on my terms.

I had a feeling this would happen I wished I could have take sprinkles with me. That would have been perfect. Oh well.

What to do what to do.

Hi please don't be down hearted, he is pleased to see you! Try a finger to push his beak away when he is over exuberant tell him to be gentle/careful in a more serious tone of voice - see it it works?

He will maybe cotton on that you are not telling him off when his doesnt nip.

This little bird is such a crazy baby. My husband likes sprinkles better now that he spent time with him. So that's awesome because my husband never understood why people would want a bird. He might be getting it now.

We still have a ways to go with shoulder training and the nips. He is getting better. It all takes time I know.
