You've all probably heard this a hundred times but I couldn't find a post, sorry. So I'm reading about how birds go to the bathroom about every 15 minutes or so, but you can potty train your parrot. This would be good for him not pooping on you for maybe 25 minutes. This is in my mind when I buy my sun conure. Sonrisa ('Risa', she identifies as female) is now 4 months old and I've had her for a month. She is on me usually 3 times a day, 1-3 hours at a time. She has NEVER gone to the bathroom on me or the inside lawn lounger where we spend most of our time together. If she needs to go to the bathroom, she flies to the floor, quickly does her business, and runs to be picked up again. So what's going on with that? Can't be unique, right? She is very tonguey and beaky which wears after awhile. The only word/sound I've been able to teach her so far is a kissing sound. Unfortunately, she spits when she does it so we are reverting to working hard on 'hola'. I wouldn't trade all the bird tricks and good behaviors in the world though for her one 'do not poop on your playmate' trick. I am so afraid this behavior is going to extinguish one day. Is my ability to wear the same shirt all day unheard of?
