Falling asleep and perching on one foot

My very first bird is a Green Cheeked Conure!
So as the title says, Cricket has been fluffing himself and perching on one foot. He favors lifting his right foot, but I've seen both. I've read that this usually means he's comfortable, but I want to make sure. :)

Secondly, around mid-day he gets spacey and sleepy. He wakes up real quick if I move or if somebody comes too close, but is he just a nap-lover, or does this mean he's not getting enough sleep?

His temperament hasn't changed, except he wants to be by me more often - kind of like I'm HIS pet.

Fluffing up and sleeping on one foot is not a worry unless you notice anything else wrong. A bird that is sick usually is not balanced enough to snooze on one foot :)

Some birds nap, others don't... is he getting a solid dark, quiet 10 plus hours of sleep or quiet at night? But your point he's not grumpy is a good sign that he's just a lazy little napper who enjoys hanging out with his flock and feels totally safe enough to get a snooze while you're on the watch :)

Yes, napping is a parrot thing. My thing, too!
The Rbird likes to pass out for a couple of hours mid-day... always has.

Most birds nap. I have a hyper active baby that says he will sleep when he is dead. That's his attitude. He wants to party party all the time. He fits I well with our family because we are all go go go people.

Sleeping on one foot is what most birds do. Since mine never chills out when he does put one foot up I love it.

Yep, even Salty takes a quick nap during the afternoon, he will just zonk out where ever he happens to be, and yes fluffed up and on one foot.

Willow naps off and on through the day....probably because I go to bed late and get up early more often than not....she's got to get her beauty rest sometime!

My favorite is when she sleeps like this... I'd say lost in thought, but I have a Too, so I'd be lying, lol

Cute photo there Tom lol..

Yep, Amy does that from time to time..not too often on one foot mind you,but she does climb up to her resting perch, high in the corner of her house, next to the living room's corner wall, and zonk out for a spell. :)

My conure naps up to three of four times a day. Sometimes on one foot all puffed up and other times she naps with her beak tucked under her wing. As long as your bird is acting normal otherwise I wouldn't worry.

Fly free Plum, my gorgeous boy.
Mine does too during the day, sometimes one foot up and head tucked under wing. I suppose they can afford to, it's not as if they have to go out looking for lunch is it LOL?
