Yep totally a blue crowned conure. A favorite of mine. Your on with the macaw, conures are closely related and hybrids between small macaws and conures have been made. Same temperament.

Sadly, another rescue situation. I got the cl today. Inexperinsed owner, to loud, to messy, can you take him....ugg

I agree with the above. Definitely a Blue Crown. I have two of them mutually preening each other about 10 feet from me. Great birds. Lively and intelligent.

I believe that Blue Crowns are considered to be more macaw than conure. So when you said "Looks like a macaw..." you were right in that respect.
