I was given 2 gcc by a lady who didn't want them anymore. I didn't know what age or sex they were until today. Now I'm pretty sure which is which after watching their behavior just now. My question is now what do I do??

Here is a good article on keeping that sort of thing under control. I keep saying I'm going to write one specifically for people keeping birds in pairs but I haven't yet. Here is the most important one though;

DO NOT provide any sort of nest, hut, box, or tent.

Thank you for the article suggestion but nothing opens. Says bad gateway after can't reach this page. I am very interested in reading it; but if I want to have babies since they have already mated what do I do? Is newspaper a good bedding material?........

Do birds get hung up like dogs after mating? Mine appeared to. I know, really detailed questions.

Www.silversageaviaries.com then click articles, then "handling hormones" I would highly discourage letting them have babies. I mean this in the nicest, most respectful way possible, but breeding parrots is not for beginners. Hundreds of hours of research and thousands of dollars to do this right. I'll post a link to a sticky of questions to ask yourself before you get into breeding.

And no, newspaper is not a good bedding material, and no, parrots cannot get "hung up" because they do not have penises. Again, I mean this respectfully, but the fact that these two very basic questions are still on your list of unknowns, I cannot stress enough that it would be unwise for you to proceed with breeding. Yes, "everyone has to start somewhere" but that somewhere should not be with an accidental clutch of it can be avoided.

You are very kind to answer my beginners questions. I do not want babies but I do not want frustrated birds. I read so many, many contradictory articles. I have found the one and only Avery vet locally and she is going to call me to talk.
And yes, your last link worked. Thank you

It is frustrating trying to understand the contradictory viewpoints online. That's one reason why I posted the original article, the entire point of which is how to have non-frustrated birds without having baby birds
