i use sunflowers as a very addictive treat. lol my bird has no problem being put in his cage, he just enjoys treats.Sunflower seeds. Millet.
Whatever is in the other bird's dish at the moment.
GREEN CHILES!!!!!!!!!!!!
He loves them more than anything, including me!
Peppers are a great source of vitamins AND they're easy to offer.
Common wisdom is that parrots have such poor taste and smell that hot peppers really excite and stimulate them. And they're very healthy (lots of good green and great nutrents)! So I give the Rickeybird lots! The only downside... when he eats a pepper, then preens, then wants to cudddle, it's a very incendiary experience.
I buy several kinds...
Poblanos, to stuff the end between the bars tightly (above a perch) so the Rbird can nibble at his leisure.
Jalapenos and Serranos, to toss into the cage's snack-bowl, to trick him into entering so I can shut the door. There's no such thing as a chile that isn't good for them. If he absolutely does NOT want to go back into his cage, a big fat Anaheim will always do the trick.
A while back, I posted a video of the bird eating one in the thread about beak flavors, and you can hear me sneezing!
I guess I must be lucky. All I have to do to get Skittles to go into the cage is go up to the cage door and say "come on" and he goes.
Skittles is pretty obedient to verbal commands. I use treats mainly to reward good behavior.
That being said- he DOES have foods that he will do anything for. Mainly, bread, pizza crust and pasta but they are really no-no foods so I only do that on rare occasions.
The big thing with him is getting him to wait for his morning juice. He has to have his juice before I can even make the coffee. Little stinker.
Not a conure, but my guy goes NUTS for cheese. Its not healthy, so I only give it to introduce a new item like his pak o bird, or when starting new trick training and gain a lot of ground quickly in the initial stages of learning a new trick. After a few sessions I move on to a healthier treat. That's usually crushed pistachio nuts.

I can only dream that they would go into their cages like that!
